The hit all-Filipino musical "Ang Huling El Bimbo" (AHEB) moves beyond their live performance on-stage and straight into the minds and hearts of artists and fans.

Since its premiere in 2018 and its contemporary re-staging this April, AHEB has inspired fellow artists to create, innovate, and share their art and talent to the world.

The AHEB Fan Art Exhibit located at Newport World Resorts’ The Grove 2F Newport Mall, which began last May, features a diverse collection of art pieces made by fans, portraying the significance the musical has etched into their lives.

From traditional painting to digital and mixed media, Newport World Resorts showcases more than a dozen creative works in an eye-catching spectacle. The iconic sedan, the same make and model used onstage emblazoned in bright lights, beckons both enthusiasts and casual mall goers to look deeper into the world of AHEB art.

Framed on the wall, fan and artist Jairo Panglinawan plays with shadows and light to depict the  symbolic moment from the musical through precise silhouette cutouts. Jamie Dela Cruz paints Joy, Anthony, Hector, and Emman in vivid pixel art mirroring their youth. While Watercolor and gouache give way to expressive snapshots of the characters in a portrait series by Jelli Marie Marcos, to name a few.

Much like the vision of Newport World Resorts’ production outfit Full House Theater Company (FHTC), the many artists who contributed to the AHEB Fan Art Exhibit infused individuality and genuine storytelling into their work, whether inspired or original.

Likewise, from the lyricism of Eraserheads’ “Paraluman” bore a heart wrenching story of friendship and falling out, seen performed live by more than 100,000 Filipinos and online with over 7 million views. It is a musical successfully put together by artists determined to remain authentic while ever-changing. Now, with this fan-contributed exhibition, "AHEB The Musical" serves further proof that art inspires art.

The AHEB Fan Art Exhibit is located at The Grove, 2F Newport Mall.
