'Recharge muna': Romualdez tells solon-colleagues to 'reenergize' during 2-month recess

After a grueling 10 months of work, House Speaker Martin Romualdez has advised his congressman-colleagues to "reenergize" themselves during the lengthy legislative recess. “As we close the first regular session, I wish that you will remain steadfast in your duty. Let us take this time to reenergize, reflect and reinvigorate our passion for public service,” Romualdez said. Romualdez, Leyte's 1st district representative, led the sine die adjournment of the first regular session on Wednesday night, May 31. The House members won't covene again until July 24, meaning they will be on break for nearly two months. “Our nation deserves no less than our synergy and hard work. We have a lot of work ahead of us. By working together, we can help address these challenges and build a better future for our fellow Filipinos,” Romualdez told his fellow lawmakers. He said he was "proud" of what the 300-strong lower chamber achieved during the first full year of the current 19th Congress under President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. "When I assumed the post as your Speaker, I invited each one of you to support and join me in fulfilling the aspirations of the Filipino people. For readily heeding this call, I express my sincerest gratitude to everyone. "Each and every member of this august body truly deserves commendation for a job well done. Congratulations to all of us!" Romualdez told his colleagues.
