A man was arrested after he pointed a gun and tried to shoot at a police officer in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City, on Thursday, June 1.
Lt. Col. Roldante Sarmiento, Station Commander of Payatas Bagong Silang Police Station (PS 13), identified the suspect as Reymart Elvis, 28, of Barangay Culiat, Quezon City.
Based on reports, a police officer on his way to PS 13 on board a motorcycle heard a group of people shouting "May riot (There's a riot)," in the area.

He approached the crowd and saw the suspect while holding an improvised shotgun. He introduced himself as a police officer and ordered him to surrender the firearm. However, instead of surrendering the firearm, Elvis pointed it at the policeman and tried to shoot him. The officer immediately grabbed the improvised shotgun and arrested the suspect. Elvis is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the QCPD said.
