Dead infant found inside garbage bag in Sampaloc drainage

By RICHIELYN CANLAS The body of an infant about 8 to 9 months old was found inside a black garbage bag dumped in a drainage by a woman in Sampaloc, Manila on Wednesday, May 31. Based on the report of the Sampaloc Police, a female witness saw the woman place a black garbage bag on top of a yellow eco bag into the drainage along España Blvd. corner Maria Christina St. Brgy. 478, Zone 47, Sampaloc in Manila at about 5:30 a.m. She immediately called the attention of the barangay officials of Brgy. 478 when she noticed foul odor coming from the garbage bag that was dumped into the drainage. A barangay tanod from Brgy. 478 was dispatched immediately and pulled out the black garbage bag from the sewage. Upon checking, they discovered the lifeless body of an infant. According to the police report, the umbilical cord was still attached to the child.
