Cops net over P500k shabu in Pasig, Mandaluyong buy-busts
Police operatives in the cities of Pasig and Mandaluyong seized a total of P537,200 worth of shabu from drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations on Monday, May 29, and Tuesday, May 30.
At around 10:20 p.m. on May 29, police arrested a man identified by Pasig Police Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. as “Christian,” 43.
He was arrested in Villa Sanchez Compound, Barangay Palatiw, Pasig City.
Recovered from the suspect were around 15 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P102,000, along with P500 and eight pieces of P1,000 bills as boodle money.
In another buy-bust operation in Pasig City, a high value individual (HVI) in the Pasig Drug Watchlist, was nabbed in Barangay Manggahan at 3:15 p.m. on May 30.
The suspect, identified as “Weng,” 42, a helper, was arrested by Sub-Station 8 personnel who responded to a complaint made by a concerned citizen regarding gambling activities along Kaagapay Street in Karangalan Village.
Around 43 grams of suspected shabu worth P292,400, together with P150 bet money and other gambling paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspect.
In Mandaluyong City, two drug suspects were arrested by the police on Sunday Street, Barangay Poblacion at 10:50 p.m. on May 30.
Found in the possession of the suspects identified as “Negra and cohorts” were a total of 21 grams of alleged shabu worth P142,800.
The buy-bust operations were conducted with the combined forces of the police stations’ drug enforcement units and intelligence sections.
The intelligence sections of the Pasig and Mandaluyong police implemented surveillance operations prior to the buy-busts.
The drugs recovered from the buy-busts were taken for laboratory chemical analysis in the Eastern Police District (EPD) - Forensic Section, located in Barangay Mauway, Mandaluyong City.
The suspects are currently detained in the custodial facilities of the Pasig and Mandaluyong police.
The suspects are facing charges for illegal possession and sale of illegal drugs, as stated in Sections 5 and 11 Art. II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
