Japanese envoy enjoys Anilao diving experience

Japan’s envoy to the Philippines, who went into scuba diving for the first time in 25 years, was in awe of what he saw during a recent dive off Anilao in Batangas. (Photo courtesy of Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koshikawa Kazuhiko) Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koshikawa Kazuhiko, in a Twitter post, shared his diving experience and picture-perfect moments after exploring undersea wonders of Anilao. “Scuba diving for the 1st time in 25 years! I was bit nervous at first, but the beauty of the diverse corals and fish of Anilao relaxed me right away. The Philippine beaches are truly amusing,” he wrote. His post was accompanied by photos of his sightings of the underwater seascapes and sea creatures. In one of the photos, the ambassador was seen swimming near the ocean floor as a sea turtle moves ahead of him. Anilao, a marine protected sanctuary located in the province of Batangas, is touted as one of the top diving destinations in the country this summer season. Long a scuba divers’ haven, Anilao has a good mix of diversely rich ocean flora and fauna from coral reefs to pelagic fishes and critters.
