Small Laude on luxury, the idea of women past their prime, and purchasing jewelry

The Filipino socialite and internet star becomes the newest ambassador of Diagold.

Elegant, opulent, and in many ways relatable, Small Laude captured the hearts of many not just with her superb style but with her down-to-earth personality. Through her videos, people get a glimpse of the life of a socialite, and instead of getting intimidated, we laugh with her as she expresses ideas and her witty remarks. This time, the Filipino internet star dives deep into her passion for jewelry as she becomes the newest ambassador of homegrown fine jewelry brand Diagold. Since 2009, the Cebuano brand has been on a mission to champion jewelry pieces that are carefully designed and crafted by a team of skilled artisans. As it celebrates its 15th anniversary in the industry, its goal of bringing a dose of sparkle to Filipinas continues with Small by its side.  “Small Laude's impeccable taste, passion for exquisite jewelry, and ability to effortlessly exude timeless elegance have made her the perfect embodiment of Diagold's vision,” Jennifer Ty, Diagold's chief operations officer, says. “Her appreciation for understated luxury and exceptional craftsmanship aligns with our brand's values. It is with great pleasure that we welcome Small Laude into the Diagold family.”
Passion for sparkles
Much like everyone, Small's passion for fine jewelry started with her mom. “Ever since I was a kid, because of my mom, I was into jewelry. That time, I learned how to appreciate them,” she tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. But beyond precious metals and lustrous gems, what she loves about the fine jewelry is the story behind each piece, just like her relationship to the pieces passed on to her by her mom. For her, that is what makes them true luxury items. “When you're happy, or if the things give you joy, that's luxury for me,” she muses. 

Women are like diamonds
Small knows that when a woman hit a certain age, society tends to see them past their prime. She believes that women can do anything at any stage of their life. “At any age, we have our own calling,” Small says. “It doesn't matter how old you are.”
Purchasing jewelry
As part of her becoming Diagold’s newest ambassador, Small headlines the brand's latest campaign that celebrates its 15-year-long legacy in the industry and its newest collection. The line features timeless and delicious pieces of jewelry, from alluring emerald sets and regal blue sapphire pieces to charming rubies and, of course, classic diamonds, among others. Her favorites are the big earrings. If you're as curious as we are about her shopping habits, especially about jewelry, you should know that she too has a limit when it comes to purchasing special items. “But if it is worth it, I'll get it,” she notes. If you're purchasing your first fine jewelry, her tip is to see the item as an investment piece, no matter how small it is. “When you purchase your first jewelry, like diamonds, it doesn't have to be big,” Small says. “The color should be white. It should be clean and free from blemishes. I'm not saying it should be perfect, but it should have fewer flaws. Even if it is small, it should be clear and white.”  The launch of Small Laude as Diagold’s newest ambassador is just one of the major events the brand has planned for the year. In August, it is set to host a grand celebration in Cebu, followed by the opening of the Diagold SM City Bacolod branch in October to cap off the anniversary festivities. *Hello, readers!
