P21.8-M worth of marijuana plants uprooted, two drug pushers nabbed in weeklong operation in Cordillera
CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- A total of P21.8 million worth of illegal drugs were seized while two drug personalities were arrested during an anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the Cordillera region from April 30 to May 6.
Records from the Regional Operations Division (ROD) showed that a total of 12,980 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants, 120,000 grams of marijuana stalks, 1,060 pieces of marijuana seedlings and 40,002 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops with an overall Standard Drug Price of P21,838,640 were discovered a Benguet plantation.
Also, the same report disclosed that a total of 1.49 grams of shabu with an overall SDP of P10,132 were confiscated from two drug personalities who were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Baguio City.
The arrested suspects were identified as Edison Caras,29, and Emelyn Tabisola, 40, who are now both facing charges for violating the provisions of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) while the confiscated marijuana plants and seedlings were burned on-site by the operating units.
