The team got little time to lick its wound after suffering a shock exit in the tournament which Bren Esports topped during the regular season as the Sibol MLBB teams are set to fly for Phnom Penh on Tuesday, May 9.

With the short turnaround, however, Duckeyy said he wants to make sure that his wards put the loss in the MPL behind and focus on the task at hand in the SEA Games.

“Just making sure to continue where we left off kasi kung magmumukmok kami then titingnan pa namin yung mga nasa likod na namin na games, I don't think it makes sense,” said the world champion coach.

“Ang sinsasabi ko lang sa kanila and ni boss Jab (Escutin), focus lang sa harap. Tapos na iyon eh nasa likod na siya. Ang laban ay nasa harap,” he added.

Duckeyy, however, admitted that the team will still be facing the same problems that contributed the team’s downfall in the MPL.

Just before the Season 11 playoffs, Bren Esports, as part of Sibol, had to play a total of seven games in the IESF SEA qualifiers which somehow gave its opponents ideas on how the team would move around the map as well as revealing some of its strats.

Sibol is facing the same dilemma with the Season 11 playoffs concluded just few days before the start of the MLBB events in the SEA Games while most of its opponents have been over and done with their pro leagues two weeks ago.

“It's a huge disadvantage for us kaya nga sinasabi ko kanina . I think it could have been scheduled better. There's a lot of room for improvements with better communication siguro with the governing bodies and the publisher Moonton, kasi nagawa siya ng Indonesia eh,” said Duckeyy.

Good thing though, Sibol was drawn in a relatively lighter group along with Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam and Timor Leste in Group A, while MPL regions Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar and Singapore are battling each other in the ‘Group of Death’ in Group B.

Asked about its group opponents, Duckeyy said Malaysia poses the biggest threat with their all-star lineup.

“It's just Malaysia in terms of development of the game. I think Malaysia is just a step ahead or two. We know the players, we know what they're capable of, it's gonna be fun to see,” said Duckeyy.
