“For the past four years, Faith Nisperos has been an exemplary Atenean student-athlete as team captain of the Ateneo Blue Eagles Women's Volleyball Team

“Now, Faith has decided to spread her wings further. She has informed the University that she will be entering the world of professional volleyball as she concludes her studies in Ateneo,” the school said in a statement.

With the Blue Eagles missing out on the Final Four for the first time in 14 years, Nisperos remained consistent in her offensive production for the team as they finished in sixth place with a 4-10 slate this season.

The 23-year-old spiker debuted for Ateneo in 2020, which was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic and returned in Season 84, where they then fell to the De La Salle Lady Spikers in the last round of the stepladder semifinals.

Nisperos brought Ateneo that year to a bronze medal finish and was also named 2nd Best Outside Hitter.

As her three-year stint ends, Nisperos was sought by seven PVL teams.

Ultimately, the 5-foot-11 spiker was announced to have committed with the young Akari team under Philippine women’s team head coach Jorge Souza de Brito.

“We are proud to say that officially, #WeHaveFaith!!,” the team said in a Facebook post.

“After a long and hard-fought season with the Ateneo Lady Eagles, Faith has left the eagle's nest and found her new home with the Akari Chargers. Welcome to the family and to the Pros, Faith!,” the statement added.

Nisperos will be joining former Ateneo standouts in Akari including Jhoana Maraguinot and Dani Ravena.
