Chad Kinis laments alleged 'hacking' of digital wallet: ‘Inubos ang pera ko!'

Comedian Chad Kinis took to social media late Monday to make public what he believed was another “hacking” modus.

He posted on Facebook, “Omg!!!! My gcash just got hacked!!!!! Inubos ang pera ko! Wala man lang alert or OTP na lumabas sa number ko from gcash na it was logged in sa ibang account! Help GCash paano nila nagawa yun eh super secured ang gcash ko?”

Eager for help, he asked followers, “Ganito din ba nangyari sa Gcash niyo? Nalimas bigla. Kasi sa mga nagpost iisa lang ng bank account na pinuntahan eh."

He also reached out to the digital wallet platform.

"Ano to GCash? if this is a system error sana po maayos agad. Nakakaloka huhuhu...”

Some fans were quick to send a reply to Chad, relating they lost money in their accounts around the same time too.

Some of the comments:

“Ako din Mama na hack!”

“Gcash help! Anyare??"”

“OMG! Ako din!”

The digital wallet platform has since posted an advisory.

It said, “We apologize for the inconvenience. Yesterday, some customers may have noticed a deduction in their GCash accounts. We assure you that an adjustment in their balance  will be made within the day, and that funds will remain safe and secure with GCash. Thank you for your understanding!”

The company maintained that no hacking occurred and that everything will return to normal at 3pm Tuesday, May 9.
