Baras, Rizal artists collaborate to encourage art appreciation among the youth

An art exhibit was launched in Baras, Rizal to encourage residents, especially the youth, to bring out their talent in arts, including painting.
Entitled, “Ambag Sining Tungo sa Kaularan at Pagkakaisa," the exhibit of paintings by the Baras Artists Group also aims to show the
different facets of the arts through the paintings that the artists are exhibiting.
Twin sisters Lorichelle Celestra Alapad and Lorily Celestra Darag, who are artists, said their group is encouraging the young
generation of today to appreciate and love art.
Four artworks were sold during the first day of the exhibit.
Alapad and Darag, who are also the makers of the handcrafted Carika Dolls, said the exhibit will run until May 14 at the Baras Gymnasium.
Aside from them, the other artists who are showcasing their artworks are Paul Mhar Penero, Gene G. Leysa, Nilo Payawal, Patrocinio Oliveros, Jerome Francisco, Adler Llagas, Adolfo A. Oliveros, Gerald Mahaguay, and Ariel Oliveros
Baras Mayor Wilfredo Robles led the opening of the exhibit at the Baras Gymnasium.
