Woman yields P7-M shabu in Mandaue buy-bust


CEBU CITY – Close to P7-million worth of suspected shabu was recovered from a 45-year-old woman in a buy-bust operation in Mandaue City, Cebu on Saturday night, May 6.

Milagrosa Bacong, a resident of Barangay Duljo Fatima here, was cornered after she agreed to sell shabu to a poseur-buyer on Zuellig Ave., Barangay Subangdaku, police said.

Bacong’s alleged cohort, Marlon Rivera, was also arrested.

Police Capt. Troy John Lalamunan, chief of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Mandaue City Police Office, said the boodle money amounting to P75,000 was recovered from Rivera’s possession.

The illegal drugs seized from the two were worth P6.8 million, police said.

Another anti-illegal drug operation here led to the arrest of a 35-year-old man, who is under probation for drug charges.

The suspect was identified as Jay Marron, who was arrested in Barangay Bulacao, past midnight on Monday, May 8.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas seized three packs of suspected shabu worth P374,000 from the suspect.

“The suspect is a probationer for violation of Section  11, Article 2 of the Republic Act 9165 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” said Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7.
