ILOILO CITY – Police Regional Office-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco has stepped down from his post after serving Western Visayas for only nine months.
FRANCISCO (PRO-6 FB) Francisco was transferred on Monday, May 8, to Camp Crame in Quezon City to lead the Directorate for Operations in a reshuffle ordered by Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. Police Major Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, confirmed the movement. Francisco became the chief of police of the region comprising of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod on Aug. 8, 2022. Francisco replaced Police Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo who is now the deputy director of the PNP Directorate for Logistics. During his tenure, Francisco prioritized the campaign against illegal drugs, loose firearms, illegal gambling, and internal cleansing. He also ordered police to implement local laws and ordinances. Brig. Gen. Archival Diokno Macala has been tapped as officer in-charge of PRO-6.
