Expect partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers across PH, says PAGASA
It will remain partly cloudy to cloudy across the entire archipelago, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms possible, especially in the afternoon or evening, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, May 8.
PAGASA said the low pressure area west of Palawan had left the Philippine area of responsibility on Monday morning and may no longer have a direct impact on any part of the country.
In the next 24 hours, the easterlies or the warm air from the Pacific Ocean will be the dominant weather system that will bring hot and humid weather and localized rain showers or thunderstorms across parts of the country.
PAGASA warned the public that sweltering heat may continue for the next four days, based on the extended weather outlook for key areas from May 9 to 12.
Maximum air temperatures may range from 34 to 35 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 36 to 37℃ in Tuguegarao City, 25 to 26℃ in Baguio City, 30 to 32℃ in Tagaytay City, 32 to 33℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 32 to 33℃ in Metro Cebu, 33 to 34℃ in Metro Davao, and 34 to 35℃ in Zamboanga City.
The public was also advised by PAGASA to exercise caution during severe thunderstorms, as these can result in landslides or flash floods, especially in areas that are vulnerable to these hazards.
Severe thunderstorms are frequently accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and occasionally hail.
