UAAP men's volleyball: UST sets up finals duel with NU

University of Santo Tomas made quick work of Far Eastern University, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21, to advance to the finals of the UAAP Season 85 men’s volleyball tournament on Sunday, May 7, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Golden Spikers set up a finals matchup with defending champion National University Bulldogs after emerging victorious against the Tamaraws in their stepladder semifinals knockout affair. It was UST’s first final appearance since Season 74 in 2012. Gboy De Vega delivered 16 points on 14 attacks and two service aces. The Golden Spikers dictated the pace the rest of the way en route to their finals berth against the undefeated Bulldogs. Mark Calado was the lone bright spot for FEU with 12 points on 11 atacks and one block. UST and NU will begin their best-of-their finals showdown on Wednesday, May 10, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
