President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. wished King Charles III a long and happy reign as he congratulated the new British royal couple on their coronation over the weekend.

Marcos sent his greetings to British couple Charles and Camilla, the Queen Consort, after he attended their historic coronation at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6. In his statement, the President said it was an honor for him to represent the Philippines in the event. "It was as grand and magnificent a ceremony as could have been, full of symbolism and weighted by history," he said. "It was a great honor for me to represent the Philippines on such a historic occasion," he added. Marcos hoped that King Charles III's coronation would start a new chapter in the United Kingdom's history as he wished him a long and happy reign. "Filipinos wish His Majesty King Charles III a long and happy reign. May his coronation signify the start of a new chapter of peace, progress, and prosperity for the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth," he said.
