Manila LGU launches Pasyal Bakuna Day at Manila Zoo

The City of Manila took a significant step towards protecting the health of its young residents by launching the Pasyal Bakuna Day at the Manila Zoo on Thursday, May 4.

A ceremonial vaccination of oral polio and measles-rubella vaccination was led by Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan, and Department of Health Director for Disease Prevention and Control Bureau Dr. Razel Nikka Hao on Thursday.

The program is intended to raise awareness among parents about the importance of immunizing their eligible children against measles, rubella, and polio to prevent disease outbreaks.

The city government said it aims to vaccinate a minimum of 80 percent of children aged five years and below within a span of 15 days.

To achieve this, interested parents are encouraged to visit any of the 44 health centers situated across Manila, where their children can receive the necessary vaccinations.
