Body of infant tossed at Negros dumpsite

BACOLOD CITY – A dead newborn baby girl was found in a garbage dumpsite in Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Friday, May 5. According to authorities, the infant was wrapped in a black garbage bag and was placed inside a box. Kabankalan police chief Police Lt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan said that a garbage segregator found the dead infant. Policemen have no lead yet as to the identity or identities of individuals who dumped the baby. Police have already coordinated with the City Health Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Women and Childrens Protection Desk (WCPD) for the proper disposition of the baby.
