As the mayor of Taguig, we always take care and support the sector of Persons with Disabilities),” she said.
The Taguig Paralympics 2023 was led by the city government’s Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office and Sports Development Office.
The PWDs competed in different sports including sitting volleyball, goal ball, chess and chess for the blind, badminton, darts and shoot out.
In sports, we learn a lot of discipline and things. This is besides the value of teamwork, discipline, goal-setting and camaraderie. It is important that we see sports as a chance to widen friendship among our Persons with Disabilities, to know each other more; and second, to show our own excellence),” she said.
The winners received cash prizes ranging from P3,000 to P6,000 and trophies. Participants also received consolation prizes.
To ensure the safety of the players, doctors and nurses were on stand-by during the whole program.
Also joining the Taguig Paralympics 2023 were PDAO head Helario Supaz, Vice Chairperson of Committee on Youth Sports and Development Councilor Jomil Serna; Chairperson on Women, Children and Family Affairs Councilor Marisse Balina-Eron; Councilor Edgar Baptista and Executive Assistant for Health Dr. Cecille Montales.
