CAMBODIA—Andrew Kim Remolino and Arland Arbois bagged silver medals in aquathlon and marathon, respectively, in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in different venues here Saturday, May 6.
Remolino clocked 15 minutes and 8.70 seconds to settle behind eventual gold medalist Rashif Amila Yaqin in the 500-meter swim, 2.5-kilometer race of the men’s division at the Kep Town Beach in Kiep City.
Yaqin timed 14:28.9 to rule the race.
Joshua Ramos, however, failed to make it to the podium after finishing fifth in 16:15.7.
Raven Alcoseba and Gene Quiambao also did not make it to the medal podium in the distaff side after finishing fourth (17:45.1) and eighth (18:31.2), respectively.
Cambodia’s Margot Garabedian captured the women’s gold in 16:09.90.
Meanwhile, Arbois timed 2 hours, 33 minutes and 27 seconds for the men’s 42-km marathon race held at the Angkor Wat in Siem Riep.
A newbie with the national team and a first-timer in the biennial meet, the South Cotabato native fell short behind eventual champion Agus Prayogo of Indonesia, who posted 2:32:59.
