CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth P1.8 million in the campaign against illegal drugs in the Caraga region last month.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said 73 drug suspects were arrested from April 1 to 30 who yielded 272.989 grams of suspected shabu and 13 grams of marijuana worth P1,857,885.20.
The PRO-13 Regional Operations Division said 71 operations were conducted with the Butuan City Police Office launching 16 operations where P1,061,480 worth of shabu was seized, followed by the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) with 15 operations in which illegal drugs worth P246,164 were recovered.
Surigao del Sur PPO had 12 operations and confiscated P149,511.60 worth of shabu; Agusan del Sur PPO with 10 operations which netted illegal drugs totaling P56,720; and Surigao del Norte PPO with 10 operations and illegal drugs valued at P69,289.60 were confiscated.
The Regional Intelligence Division 13 conducted six operations and confiscated P274,720 worth of shabu while the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested two drug personalities in two anti-illegal drug operations, Labra said.
The Butuan City police achieved the largest drug haul in Barangay Holy Redeemer in Butuan in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-13 on April 20 where a high-value individual (HVI) and two others were arrested and yielded 111 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P754,800.
“People's safety remains our top priority,” Labra said.
“We will launch a more aggressive anti-criminality campaign so that no criminals, including drug personalities, can walk freely on the streets and pose threats to our citizens,” he said. “Our main objective here is to make Caragaas drug-free region in Southern Philippines,” Labra added.
