Eastern Samar bet tops 2023 Miss U PH national costume tilt
TACLOBAN CITY – Airissh Ramos of Eastern Samar topped the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines (MUPh) pageant national costume competition at the Leyte Normal University here on Thursday, May 4.
Her costume was designed by John Hubert Capito and her Kataw handmade earrings were made by Jana Evardone. She was also awarded Tingog ng Filipina for Visayas by representatives of the Eastern Visayas region and Tingog party-list. Krishnah Marie Gravidez from Baguio City topped Luzon and Jannarie Zarzoso of Agusan del Norte shined for Mindanao. They received P100,000 each from Tingog. They were chosen for exemplifying the beauty, values, and smarts that a modern and empowered Filipina must possess to inspire others. Benguet's Joemay Leo was first runner-up while Kimberly Escartin of Southern Leyte was third runner-up in the pre-pageant competition. They received P50,000 each. The 38 MUPh candidates visited Eastern Visayas for a five-day tour hosted by House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Tingog party-list Representatives Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre, the Department of Tourism-Eastern Visayas, the provincial government of Leyte, Tacloban City government, and provincial government of Samar.
