RSG Slate blanks Onic PH, barges into UB semis vs ECHO

RSG Slate Philippines eliminated Onic Philippines in a dominant fashion, completing a statement 3-0 sweep in the first round of the MPL Philippines Season 11 playoffs at the SMX Convention Center on Thursday, May 4.
The Raiders put together a masterful performance in the wire-to-wire win to set up a clash of champions in upper bracket semifinals against M4 titlist ECHO. The defending MSC champion came out guns blazing in the series opener, destroying Onic with a 14-1 victory behind Eman “Emann” Sangco’s Karrie who ran wild with a perfect 7-0-2 line. Dylan “Light” Catipon set the plays with a 0-0-12 line on the Kaja as RSG never let go of the momentum in the next two games to author the dominant sweep. Game 2 saw Onic PH show some slight resistance behind the efforts of Kenneth “Nets” Barro who carried the fight on his Karrie with a 7-2-2 performance. However, the fightback still proved to be futile in the end as a huge Lord steal from John “1rrad” Tuazon dashed all Onic’s hopes of tying the series. With Nets and Onic trying to burst down 16-minute Lord, 1rrad and RSG PH initiated a conceal play to complete the crucial steal. 1rrad showed the way in Game 2 with an 8-1-9 line on the Hayabusa while Dexter “Exort” Martinez added a 7-1-16 line on the Yve. Emann also added a 7-2-10 KDA on the Beatrix pick. RSG Slate then made sure to barge into the final four for the third consecutive season with a stellar 16-4 closeout in Game 3. Emann finished with a 7-0-3 line on the Melissa while Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo provided the backline threat with his Arlott to end up with a neat 5-0-6 KDA.
