Romualdez's merienda in Washington? It's lumpiang shanghai

House Speaker Martin Romualdez craved for Filipino food during his extended stay in the United States (US), particularly in the country's capital of Washington DC. Luckily, the Leyte 1st district congressman spotted TresM food truck outside the Philippine Embassy and ordered authentic Filipino style lumpiang shanghai, which is meat-filled spring roll. Joining Romualdez in his yummy sojourn were House Deputy Speaker and Pampanga 3rd district Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. and Navotas City lone district Rep. Tobias “Toby” Tiangco. The trio also sampled the food truck's barbecue. Chef Jeffrey Domigpe owns the food truck.

Romualdez is part of the delegation of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s official visit to the US. Marcos has already met US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in separate engagements. Romualdez, who has been in the US since mid-April, laid the groundwork for Marcos' official visit to the US through a series of engagements with US officials and American business leaders.
