QC cops nab couple for robbery, other violations in Caloocan
A man and his live-in partner were arrested for robbery, illegal possession of firearms, and violation of the Anti-Fencing Law in an operation conducted by the Quezon City City Police District (QCPD) personnel in Caloocan City on Wednesday, May 3.
Lt. Col. Robert Amoranto, QCPD Kamuning Station (PS 10) commander, identified the suspects as John Daniel Manlapaz, 23, and Alina Guazon, 21, both from Quezon City.
Police said the victim, Kenneth Sadiang-Abay, 26, reported to PS 10 a robbery incident that occurred in his house in Brgy. Obrero, Quezon City at around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The vicitim showed closed-circuit television footages to the police which helped them identify Manlapaz.
The PS 10 tracked and located the suspect on Loreto St., Morning Breeze Subdivision in Caloocan City, using the victim’s airpods which was reported stolen
Upon their arrival, the operatives saw Manlapaz on board a red Honda Click motorcycle and wearing the victim’s shirt and bull cap.
Manlapaz and Guazon were arrested at around 10 a.m. on the same day after the victim positively identified them.

Authorities confiscated a caliber 45 pistol, two magazines loaded with eight bullets each, and the suspect’s motorcycle which was also initially reported stolen last April 29. The suspect told the police that he kept the stolen items in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Quezon City. The police went to the area and recovered several items worth P363,500. However, the victim's gold bracelet worth P20,000 was already reportedly pawned by Guazon. Manlapaz will face charges for robbery and violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act while Guazon will be charged for violation of the Anti-Fencing Law, police said.
