Parañaque Mayor Olivarez urges vax protection amid rising Covid cases
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez urged residents to receive vaccines against Covid-19 after the City Health Office (CHO) recorded 39 active cases on Wednesday, May 3.
Olivarez said the city government recorded a total of 40 active cases of Covid-19 on May 1 and 36 on May 2.
He said that since there is a fluctuating up and down movement of Covid-19 cases in the city, there is already a need for residents to follow the basic health protocols and take extra precautions to avoid the further spread of the disease in the city.
Two villages in District 1 -- Barangays San Dionisio and San Isidro -- recorded four and seven active cases respectively.
Meanwhile, seven villages in District II logged a total of 28 active cases.
The seven villages with active Covid-19 cases were Barangays Don Bosco with six; four in Marcelo Green; three in Merville; three in Moonwalk; five in San
Antonio; five in San Martin de Porres, and two in Sun Valley.
The mayor said only one barangay recorded no new case of Covid-19 in District II and six in District I.
Records showed the city government recorded a total of 58,325 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with 816 deaths, since the start of the pandemic.
