Blacklist International star Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna slammed the decision that led to the auto-ban of hero Diggie for the rest of the duration of the MPL Philippines Season 11 playoffs due to an in-game bug.
MOONTON made the decision to ban the hero for tournaments happening from May 4 to 16 due to an in-game bug which allowed the user of the hero to get a vision of its opponents around the map. That meant Diggie, one of the comfort picks of Blacklist, can’t be selected during the playoffs as well as during the MLBB event in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia. The Codebreakers skipper, however, believed that the auto-ban was just too much for a ‘simple bug’ and could be addressed by also setting up restrictions. “Para sakin medyo stupid yung bug para i-auto-ban nila nang ganun kasi simple lang naman yung bug eh. Bawal ka mag-skill throughout the game para lang magkaroon ka ng vision sa isang hero which is competitively speaking, bakit mo naman gagawin yun,” argued OhmyV33nus. “Para sa’kin parang too much lang na i-auto-ban siya, pwede naman irestrict yung pagka-ban sa kanya katulad nung with Faramis na bawal lang siya mag Fleeting Time,” she added. OhmV33nus admitted that the sudden ban on the Diggie affected their first round series against Smart Omega Esports especially with the hero playing a crucial part in the team’s drafting strategies. “Sobrang laking impact nun (ban) samin kasi knowing all the teams na maglalaro ngayon sa playoffs, alam naman natin na Blacklist talaga yung pinakanakakapag-maximize talaga ng Diggie. And isa rin yun sa mga most banned namin,” she explained. “To be honest nabigla kami kasi 12 midnight na kami kagabi ininform wherein yung buong weeks na nagpractice kami included yung Diggie. At the same time, wala na kaming time para magprepare or para iadjust yung pinaghandaan namin buong araw kahapon na drafts. So talagang sobrang napunta kami sa disadvantage,” she added. Good thing, the Diggie ban seemed to hardly affect the team’s performance as Blacklist completed a sweet sweep of Omega to advance to the upper bracket semifinals against Bren Esports
