Troops received information from residents regarding the presence of the armed men conducting extortion activities, said 29th IB Civil-Military Operations (CMO) officer 1st Lt. Jade Bryce Buñe.
A combat operation was conducted that resulted into a skirmish with an undetermined number of NPA rebels from the Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda 21C, Weakened Guerilla Front 21 of the CPP-NPA Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC).
The NPA retreated after 40 minutes and left behind two AK47 rifles, one M16A1 rifle, medical paraphernalia, assorted ammunition, food, and subversive documents with high intelligence value.
