Makati LGU, KonsultaMD, Globe launch 24/7 online consults for city hall workers
The Makati City local government, in partnership with KonsultaMD and Globe Group, launched on Friday, May 5, its 24/7 free online consults program for city hall employees which allows them to receive medical help and services online and in the comfort of their own home.
Makati City Mayor Abby Binay led the event with Globe Group President and CEO Ernest Cu and KonsultaMD CEO Cholo Tagaysay at the Makati City Hall.
Binay said a total of 10,785 city hall employees will benefit from the service as she bared her plan to also extend the telehealth service to the 144,943 Yellow Card holders in the city which include senior citizens, differently-abled persons, bedridden patients, and those who are unable to visit healthcare facilities due to health and other concerns.
“We are honored to partner with the Globe Group and KonsultaMD to provide online consultations and other telemedicine services to City Hall employees. We believe that this partnership can set a good example for other cities and organizations to follow, as we work together to overcome the challenges of the pandemic,” Binay said.
The partnership, which is the first KonsultaMD project for a local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila, aims to provide convenient and accessible services to city hall employees to address physical and mental health concerns even after office and clinic hours.
The mayor explained that Yellow Card city hall employees only need to download the KonsultaMD mobile application, register, and schedule a consultation with a licensed doctor or mental health counselor.
Aside from online consultations, KonsultaMD also offers e-prescriptions, laboratory requests, online medical certificates, and mental health support.
These e-prescriptions can then be presented to Planet Drugstore so that employees can avail themselves of free medicines.
“This partnership is a significant step towards promoting telemedicine as a viable healthcare option, not just for City Hall employees but also for the wider community. It is a timely response to the growing demand for accessible and convenient healthcare services, which has been exacerbated by the pandemic,” Binay stressed.
Tagaysay expressed his gratitude to the city government for trusting them to improve Makati’s healthcare system.
"We are honored to be part of this groundbreaking initiative and work with the City of Makati in improving their healthcare system. As a telehealth company, KonsultaMD is dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to every Filipino. Our partnership with the City of Makati is a significant step towards achieving this goal,” he said.
Cu also said the Globe Group is dedicated to improving the quality of life of Filipinos by leveraging digital solutions and connectivity.
"At Globe, we are committed to uplifting the lives of Filipinos through digital solutions and connectivity so we are excited to see the impact this program will have on the healthcare system of Makati. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the City of Makati and other LGUs to build a better, healthier future for the people," said Cu.
