Here's what these stylish gents are wearing this summer season
Whether traveling to an exotic destination or just going around the city, here are some summer fashion inspirations to take your style to the next level.

When it comes to menswear, one can never go wrong with the classic pieces. A crisp shirt paired with good denim jeans styled with neat sunglasses or eyewear is a simple yet timeless look. A luxe suit ensemble with a sharp timepiece is always a staple. But come the summer season, men these days explore more playful pieces, taking their personal style to newer heights.
Such was seen during Rustan’s Man 2.0 event. The retail giant unveiled its new international and local brands and fresh collections dedicated to elevating men’s summertime dressing. During the launch, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle was able to chat with a few stylish gents as they shared their favorite picks from the shopping destination’s latest menswear offerings.
Daniela Medalla and Anton Medalla; Portuguese Flannel's denim embroidered shirt
Anton Medalla, co-founder of A.kin eyewear, which is also available in Rustan’s, selected a denim embroidered shirt from the brand Portuguese Flannel. Think of it as a new way to wear florals for men. The piece features floral cutouts and embroideries and scalloped sleeves and hem. The label is known for high-quality shirts that tell the story of its Portuguese heritage, and for blending traditional expertise with contemporary aesthetics in every piece it produces.
“I really like it because of the embroidered design,” Anton said. “It is very different from what you get from your traditional shirt. I feel that it looks very fresh.”
Miko Carreon; Pieces from Randolf Clothing
As an architect and dancer, Miko Carreon is never shy about exploring colors and prints for his ensembles. Mirroring his penchant for modern style is his favorite item from Rustan’s Men, a contemporary barong from local brand Randolf Clothing.
“I love this so much because it is barong, it is local, but fun and playful,” Miko mused. “It is very current and perfect for the weather now.”
Alex Tomacruz Lagman , Victor Basa, and EJ Lagman; Satorisan's Dharma Linen sneakers
For chef and entrepreneur EJ Lagman, style should also come with purpose and substance. His must-have piece for the season is a pair of Dharma Linen sneakers from Satorisan. The international footwear brand encourages conscious walking and living simply, slowly, and harmoniously with nature.
“I like the meaning behind the brand,” EJ said. “Its pieces are made with natural dyes. I used these for trekking.”
Apart from the abovementioned, the latest addition to Rustan’s Man’s roster includes Kardo, a clothing brand that honors India's traditional weaving, dying, and printing techniques; Pompeii, a Spanish lifestyle brand focused on the concept of "walking" as a constant movement of the soul, body, and mind; Knickerbocker, a New York-based label that produces collections designed for utility and purpose, creative originality, and sustainability for future generations; Far Afield, a contemporary clothing brand inspired by global travel and built around a desire to create distinctive and high-quality garments with utility and purpose; and Scalpers, a label delivering a strong and uncompromising style to give men access to everything that makes them successful and unique.
