EXO's Kai cries as he discusses his military service, group comeback to fans

“We are bringing sudden news related to Kai's military service to fans,” the agency said.  It added, “Kai was preparing for EXO's comeback scheduled for this year but due to a recent change in the Military Manpower Administration rules, he will enter the Army Training Center on May 11 and receive basic military training before serving in the alternative service as a social service worker.”  “In respect of Kai's intention to quietly enlist on the same day, the location and time of his enlistment will not be disclosed, and we ask for the understanding of fans as no separate event will be held on the same day.” It said, “We will inform you about the upcoming EXO album as soon as it is sorted out.” Kai took to Instagram to talk to fans about his military service and his absence from EXO’s comeback.  "I'm going to the army. I was scheduled to do activities, but I wish I could do more. Time goes fast,” he said.  He added, “This time, too, time will pass quickly. I started dancing when I was eight years old. I've been doing it ever since, and I started out because I liked dancing, and at some point I became a singer, and now that I'm a singer, I like dancing and singing, but meeting fans is even better." “It was fun. I’ll do my best again. I have been working hard for over 20 years. I prepared a lot, but it's a shame,” said Kai.  Kai said, “I'm sad that I couldn't show you what I prepared but I can show it to you when I return (from the military)." “I want to see your faces before I go. I think I’m going to miss you. Please understand that today is the first day that I learned about the news.  From tomorrow I will be smiling,” he said.  About the military service rules, Korean media reported that under the Military Service Act, the law that governs conscription in South Korea, the date of enlistment can be postponed up to five times within two years.  It added that Kai could have already used up all the postponement and he is in a situation where he could no longer postpone his enlistment.
