Valenzuela, Navotas LGUs recognized for efficient delivery of services
The local government units (LGUs) of Valenzuela and Navotas Cities were cited by the Anti-Red Tape Authorities (ARTA) for their excellent delivery of various services to their constituents.
ARTA’s recognition of the LGUs was made during the Accelerating Reforms for Improved Service Efficiency (ARISE) Awards held at the Manila Hotel on Monday, May 29.
The ARISE Awards serves as a comprehensive recognition for both national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) in acknowledgment of their endeavors to enhance bureaucratic efficiency and digitalization of services to minimize red tape in the country, the Valenzuela City government said.

The LGUs were able to participate in four categories of the ARISE Awards - Compliance to the Electronic Business-One-Stop-Shop for LGUs or Digitalization of Services Award for NGAs, Adherence to the Philippine Good Regulatory Principles Award, Accomplishment in the Report Card Survey 2.0 Award, and Philippine Ease of Doing Business Reporting System Award. Valenzuela City was recognized as one of the LGUs in the country which have successfully fulfilled the requirements of the ARISE Award across all four categories. It bagged a prestigious crystal ARISE trophy with an emblem serving as a tangible symbol of the great achievement in minimizing red-tape in the local government. Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian received the award along with Business Permits and Licensing Office Head lawyer Ulysses Gallego. Meanwhile, the Navotas City government was recognized for its full compliance with the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 particularly on the implementation of the electronic Business One-Stop-Shop (eBOSS). “This recognition is the outcome of the collaborative efforts of all city government offices. We especially commend our electronic Business One-Stop-Shop (eBOSS) and Information and Communications Technology Office staff for continuously developing our digital system and simplifying all processes for Navoteño taxpayers,” Navotas City Mayor Joh Rey Tiangco said. According to the local government, businesses in the city can apply, renew, and pay for their permits with convenience through its eBOSS facility. Hard copies of permits are also delivered to their respective addresses through in-house couriers. “This award validates all our hard work and challenges us to do more to improve the lives of our constituents,” Tiangco said.
