QC gov't receives P310,000 assistance from Rotary International District 3780
The Quezon City government received on Wednesday, May 31, P310,000 cash from the Rotary International District 3780 for its learning trust fund intended for the implementation of programs for public schools in the city.
Rotary International District Governor Froilan Enriquez handed over the donation to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.
Former officers of Rotary International District 3780, first gentleman Jun Enriquez, Past District Governor (PDG) Rey David, former president Rene Cantos, former president Pol Castillo, Chief Of Staff (COS) Lotlot Alvarez, and School Division Superintendent, Carleen Sedilla were also present during the event.
The donation will fund the learners of Bago Bantay Elementary School participating in Quezon City - Gabay Aral.
Mayor Joy Belmonte urged the organization to invest in children's education.
“We cannot imagine the best if our children are not at their best. We cannot be the best if our kids are not the best,” she said.
The city mayor emphasized the need for shared commitment and timely comprehensive action to promote the well-being and interest of the children.
“We are truly grateful for the commitment and support of Rotary International District 3780. Through the help of the private sector, we will be able to harness the education and learning opportunities in our city for the benefit of our young learners,” Mayor Belmonte added.
In accordance with City Ordinance SP-3182, the QC Learning Recovery Trust Fund was established for cash donations intended for the learning recovery programs for QC public schools
