QC cited for excellent 'ease-of-doing' business initiatives

The Quezon City government was recognized by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for its exemplary "ease of doing business" initiatives during the Accelerating Reforms for Improved Service and Efficiency (ARISE) Awards on Monday, May 29. ARISE aims to recognize all national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) in implementing Ease of Doing Business Law, especially in the digitalization of services that provides convenience to clients and prevent red tape incidents. It has four categories, namely: Compliance to the Electronic Business One Stop Shop for LGU's or Digitalization of Service Awards for NGA's; Adherence to the Philippine Good Regulatory Principles Award: Accomplishment in the Report Card Survey 2.0; and Philippine Ease of Doing Business Reporting System Award. The Quezon City government received the award for the completion of requirements for Compliance to the Electronic Business One Stop Shop (eBOSS). e-BOSS is a digitalized and streamlined business processing and licensing system that will support local economic recovery after the pandemic by enticing more entrepreneurs to comply.
The awards were received by Ms. Ma. Margarita Santos, the QC Business Permit and Licensing Office chief, and Engr. Isagani Versoza, the Chief of the Department of Building Officials. In celebrating ARTA's 5th anniversary, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin joined the celebration and delivered the message of President Marcos. Secretary Bersamin was joined by Secretary Ivan John E Uy of the the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Secretary Jaime J. Bautista of the Department of Transportation, Jose Arnulfo Veloso, president and general manager of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), and Dr. Samuel A. Zacate, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Director General. (Hannah Nicol)
