Las Piñas LGU holds reorientation on local budget process, annual investment program

The Las Piñas city government conducted a two-day comprehensive reorientation on the local budget process and the preparation of the city's Annual Investment Program (AIP). According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the reorientation was held on Monday, May 29, up to Tuesday, May 30, at the Mayor Nene Aguilar DRRMO Building, BF Resort Village, Barangay Talon II. Aguilar said the initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the city's fiscal management, ensuring that public funds are allocated optimally to address the needs of its residents. She said the reorientation program was brought together by key stakeholders, including department heads, local officials, and representatives from various sectors of the community. The program was led by the City Planning and Development Office and the City Budget Office. Aguilar added that the session focused on providing participants with a deeper understanding of the budgeting process, as well as the proper formulation and implementation of the AIP. During the session, participants were given insights into the local budget cycle, which encompasses the stages of budget formulation, budget review, and budget execution. The mayor said the re-orientation program delved into the preparation of the AIP that serves as a blueprint for the city's development projects and programs, providing a strategic framework for resource allocation in alignment with the city's development priorities. Aguilar said the participants were educated on the importance of aligning the AIP with the city's long-term development plans and the need for thorough project evaluation and prioritization.
