Weeklong operation in Caraga Region: 73.215 grams of shabu seized, 27 drug pushers nabbed

CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City -- Operatives of Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) confiscated 73.215 grams of shabu with a total worth of P497,862  following relentless operations from May 22 to May 28 in different places in Northeastern Mindanao (The Caraga Region). The all-out anti-illegal drug operations also resulted in the arrest of 27 suspects. PRO 13 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. The PRO 13 Regional Intelligence Division (RID) also apprehended five suspects and seized the largest haul of shabu with 33.3 grams worth P226,440 while Surigao del Sur PPO nabbed four suspects and seized 6.96 grams of shabu worth P42,126. Agusan del Norte PPO arrested two drug personalities and confiscated two grams worth P13,600 of shabu while Surigao del Norte PPO arrested one and confiscated 1.15 grams of shabu worth P7,820. Highlight of the operation was the arrest of a couple in Barangay Pasta, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur on May 24, 2023 by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-RID13 and San Francisco Municipal Police Station in coordination with PDEA13. The couple yielded nine grams of shabu with Standard Drug Price of P61,200 and P12,000 cash in different denominations. “All 27 suspects are under tactical investigation and will be charged with violation of RA No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” Brig. Gen. Labra told The Manila Bulletin on Tuesday, May 30. “Our commitment to the war on drugs stems from our dedication to public safety, protecting the vulnerable, and addressing the complex interplay between illegal drugs and crime,” the region’s top police official said. “We continue to take part in the government’s efforts on demand reduction and supply reduction of illegal drugs,” Brig. Gen. Labra stated.
