The Las Piñas City police said the cause of death of the 4-year-old boy who was found inside a washing machine was due to blunt traumatic injuries in the head.

According to city police chief Col. Jaime Santos, they are looking at the possibility that the suspect in the killing of the boy, the victim's own uncle and a minor himself at 15 years old, could have committed the crime due to his avid watching of the series on Jeffery Dahmer, the American serial killer and sex offender.

Santos said the father of the suspect admitted that his son is an avid follower of Dahmer.

He said they are also still waiting for the full autopsy report to determine whether the 4 year-old boy was tortured before he was stuffed inside the washing machine by the suspect.

He said a murder case was already filed against the suspect at the Las Piñas Prosecutors Office.

The city police chief added that suspect was turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) for intake interview by Hermigildo Sanchez for determination of discernment.

Santos said the discovery of the body of the victim came after the cousin of the victim, Hermie Modero, said that he read a cryptic post of the suspect on his social media account while the child was reported missing.

He said another concerned citizen and allegedly a close friend of the suspect coordinated with them as they could no longer hide the crime.

The city police chief added that screen shots were also sent to the family of the child stuffed inside the washing machine including the post made by the suspect on his social media account.

Santos said the child was reported missing on May 26 by his grandfather, Geronimo Modero. The victim was reportedly left under the custody of the suspect.

The decomposing body of the child was discovered at around 7:00 a.m. at the second level of the house of the suspect on Kalamansi St. Barangay CAA, Las Piñas.

The body of the victim was placed inside the washing machine covered on top with books that were properly arranged to hide the crime.

Santos said the incident was also reported to the police by the mother of the suspect.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft condoled with the family of the victim.

Kraft also encouraged the public, especially parents, to watch over their children, spend time and communicate with them, and veer them away from too much use of gadgets.

Dr. Camille Garcia, a psychologist, told a radio interview that the case could be a “copycat syndrome” where a person mirrors the actions of another person he or she idolizes.
