Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. made his comeback to TV, rekindling his love for action series.

Once again, Revilla will grace the small screen that will highlight his impressive action skills via the GMA Network action-comedy series “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis," a spinoff from the hit and classic movie. Also starring are multi-talented actress Beauty Gonzalez, and sought-after Sparkle leading lady Max Collins.

"I'm very excited pero siyempre andun pa rin yung kaba. Natural na sa akin yung kaba dahil kapag hindi na ako kinabahan, mas nakakatakot yun. Kapag kinakabahan ako, sa tingin ko maganda yung ginagawa namin. So I'm very thankful sa lahat ng bumubuo ng GMA Network, sa production and sa co-stars ko. Lahat sila nag-fit doon sa role. Hindi natin maiiwasan na ma-compare ang series sa dalawang movie pero sa tingin ko, kung hindi man mapantayan, baka malampasan pa. That's why ninenerbyos pa rin ako pero naniniwala ako na magugustuhan ito ng mga manonood," said Revilla when asked about how he felt doing another TV series, during a press conference held at the Seda Hotel in Quezon City recently.

(I'm very excited, but of course, the nervousness is still there. It's natural for me to be nervous because when I'm not nervous anymore, it's scarier. When I'm nervous, I think what we're doing is good. So I'm very thankful to everyone who makes up GMA Network, the production, and my co-stars. They all fit the role. We can't avoid comparing the series to the two movies, but I think, if not matched, maybe even surpassed. That's why I'm still nervous, but I believe the viewers will love it.)

When asked how he could relate to the character of Police Major Bartolome Reynaldo in the series, Revilla joked and answered: "Actually, this is my life story."

But the politician-actor said: "Base naman lahat ito sa ginawang first and second movie na ginawa noon. Pero ginawa namin itong pang-telebisyon. Pero ibang attack naman ngayo ang ginawa namin ngayon."

On the similarities of his character to personal life, Revilla laughed and continued to joke: "Ang pagkakalapit nila ay lapitin sila ng chicks. Trabaho lang ito kaya walang kinalaman sa personal."

Gonzalez recalled the first time the series was offered to her.

"Noong nalaman ko na ako ang pinili rito, siyempre kinilig at happy ako. Pero at the same time, inisip ko talaga paano kaya makipag-interact sa kanya. Kasi we all know he's a Philippine icon, an action star, and a senator. So sabi ko paano kaya makipag-interact sa kanya? So noong first shooting day namin, nakilala ko na si senator Bong. The way I interact, it's like being a normal person. He treats us like a normal person at napakabait talaga niya. Caring. Very boy-next-door. Kaya hindi ako magtataka kung bakit siya matinik. He's open to suggestions para sa ikakaganda ng series," said Gonzalez, the leading lady of Revilla in the new program.

(When I found out that I was chosen here, of course, I was thrilled and happy. But at the same time, I really thought about how to interact with him. Because we all know he's a Philippine icon, an action star, and a senator. So I said how can I interact with him? So on our first shooting day, I met Senator Bong. The way I interact, it's like being a normal person. He treats us like a normal person and he's really kind. Caring. Very boy-next-door. So I won't be surprised why he is smart. He's open to suggestions for the improvement of the series.)

Gonzalez also said that people on the streets call her Tolome, her screaming line whenever she calls Revilla in the show.

"Everybody's calling me Tolome. Minsan nakakatakot kasi nagugulat na lang ako. If everybody's calling me that, it means they are excited about the show. This is a perfect show for all because may action, comedy, and all," she said.

Gonzalez said that her husband is excited about her new series because she gets to show her comic side. "Hind lang daw ako iyakan at sampalan. Doon naman talaga ako nag-start sa comedy and now I'm back. it was good. At least I can show everyone what I can give."

Collins said Revilla is also caring to the people on the set. "Katulad ng sinabi ni Beauty, considering his stature as a politician and an icon, he is one of the most humble actors I've ever known. He makes sure that everyone is taken care of on the set. Lahat talaga tinatanong niya kung okay ba kayo? Kumusta na kayo? Nakakain na ba kayo?"

"Just like Beauty said, considering his stature as a politician and an icon, he is one of the most humble actors I've ever known. He makes sure that everyone is taken care of on the set. He really asks everyone if you are okay. How are you? Have you eaten yet?" Collins said.

But Revilla said that he always gives equal treatment to everyone involved in the project. "Lagi kong pinaparamdam sa kanil walang senador dito. Pantay-pantay tayo. Sabi ko sa kanila 200 percent energy tayo lagi sa set." (I always make them feel that there is no senator here. We are equal. I always tell them to give 200 percent energy for the series.)

Starring in the feel-good and exciting show are Kate Valdez, Kelvin Miranda, and Raphael Landicho. Introducing Angel Leighton together with Niño Muhlach, Mr. ER Ejercito, Ronnie Ricketts, Mae Bautista, Archie Alamania, and Dennis Marasigan.

The program follows the story of Police Major Bartolome Reynaldo (Sen. Bong), who is admired for his good looks, fearlessness, and popularity with the ladies. But there is one thing that grounds Tolome and that’s his fear of his wife, Gloria (Beauty).

Tolome gains a lot of enemies for being extremely fierce over the criminals. Even the cops who bend the rules also want to see him fail. Despite this, Tolome remains focused in his line of duty with the support of his feisty yet loving wife. However, Gloria can also be very jealous, especially with all the girls surrounding Tolome.

One day, Tolome rescues some women who are allegedly kidnapped and one of them is Elize (Max), a beautiful and sexy lady. Elize vows to work with Tolome to track down the kidnappers. Surprisingly, the investigation leads them to a deeper and darker case.

How can Tolome solve one of his biggest cases? Will Elize be a friend or a foe of Gloria? What are the thrills and fulfillments in the life of a cop?
