The Pasig City local government announced on Tuesday, May 30, that it is once again opening the online registration for Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) to Out-of-School Youths (OSY) of the city as part of its efforts in giving young Pasigueños and vulnerable sectors a brighter future.
According to the city government, OSYs aged 15 to 30 may register for the program on June 5, Monday. The registration will be opened from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. only.
"May 200 slots ang ilalaan para sa batch ng SPES OSY na ito. Paalala na ang first 200 applicants na makakapag-register online ay dadaan pa sa screening at evaluation. Tanging ang mga makakapasa lamang ang kokontakin ng Pasig City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) (There will be 200 slots to be opened for this batch of SPES OSY. The first 200 applicants who will register online will still go through screening and evaluation. Only those who will pass will be contacted by the Pasig City Public Employment Service Office)," the city government said.
If some of them fail to pass the screening, the city government will assess 201 more applicants until the 200 allotted slots are completed. First time SPES OSY applicants will be given priority, according to the city government.
Under the program, chosen SPES interns are required to report to the Pasig City Hall from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., starting June 26 until July 24.
Pasig City's SPES is a program of the local government in cooperation with the city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
It aims to give OSYs opportunity for temporary employment, particularly offering work within the local government, in order to equip them with professional skills which they can utilize in their future careers.
