The total for “★★★★★ (5-STAR)” is the highest number of pre-orders for a K-pop album. It exceeded the pre-orders for Seventeen’s “FML,” released on April 24, which reached 4.64 million copies. “FML” previously broke the record for the highest pre-orders for an album and edged out BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7,” which had 4.02 million copies. To date, only BTS, Seventeen and Stray Kids have reached four million copies in album pre-orders. Stray Kids are poised to join BTS and Seventeen as the only artists who have each sold four million copies of a single album. In Hanteo Chart’s monthly album chart for April, Seventeen’s “FML” sold 4.55 million copies. In the yearly album chart for 2022, BTS’ “Proof” grabbed the No. 1 with 3.05 million copies. “★★★★★ (5-STAR)” will be released on June 2.
