BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.5 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental on Wednesday morning, May 3, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was recorded at 9:23 a.m. and its epicenter was 196 kilometers (kms) southeast of Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani.
The tremor had a depth of 107 kms, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs is not expecting aftershocks or damage from the earthquake.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) reported no damage or injury from the earthquake
