“We are bringing sudden news related to Kai's military service to fans,” the agency said.

It added, “Kai was preparing for EXO's comeback scheduled for this year but due to a recent change in the Military Manpower Administration rules, he will enter the Army Training Center on May 11 and receive basic military training before serving in the alternative service as a social service worker.

The Military Manpower Administration administers and supervises the military service in South Korea, a mandatory duty for all Korean men.

“In respect of Kai's intention to quietly enlist on the same day, the location and time of his enlistment will not be disclosed, and we ask for the understanding of fans as no separate event will be held on the same day.”

It said, “We will inform you about the upcoming EXO album as soon as it is sorted out.”
