DPWH conducting maintenance on Manila North Road in Cagayan
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is conducting maintenance activities on the Manila North Road (MNR) in Pamplona and Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.
DPWH-Cagayan Second District Engineering Office officer-in-charge District Engineer Rellie S. Dalmaceda said P100 million from the 2023 General Appropriations Act has been allocated for the project that will ensure safe and reliable national road network in Cagayan Valley.
Dalmaceda said the project involves applying asphalt on the existing carriageway to prevent further deterioration of the Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) and meet International Roughness Index (IRI) standards.
The project will also improve the serviceability of pavements and provide convenience and safety to the traveling public.
Thermoplastic pavement markings will also be applied to enhance road visibility and improve motorist safety.
The project started in February 2023 and will be completed by the end of June.
