Olivarez said the activity, held at the Parañaque City Sports Complex in Barangay San Antonio, was attended by NHA National Capital Region (NHA-NCR) South Sector Office Regional Manager Arch. Luis S. Bacamante, and NHA-NCR South District I Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Engr. Wenson O. Reyes.
They were joined by Urban Mission Areas and Development Office (UMADO) OIC Shella Bernal; Rudy Ojo, representing District 1 Congressman Edwin L. Olivarez, and Local Housing Development Office Assistant Department head Karl Mendoza.
The mayor said 87 families coming from seven barangays in the city will be relocated to Parleston Estate in Barangay Calubcob sa Naic, Cavite.
Olivarez said the families who were given housing units came from four villages in District 1 and three from District II.
From District I, 11 recipients came from Barangay Baclaran, four from Don Galo, three from Tambo, and 14 from Sto. Nino. From District II, four beneficiaries were from Barangay Merville, 31 from Sun Valley, and 20 from Moonwalk.
The selected families were those living near the creeks and rivers or danger zones, Olivarez said. They have been living in those areas for 30 years and will be relocated for their safety, he added.
The mayor also said that the city government offered in-house relocation, wherein other residents staying at danger zones will be moved to their local housing facilities located along the C5 Extension in Barangay La Huerta.
