The official delivered a video message during ARTA’s 5th State of the ARTA Address at the Manila Hotel with the theme, “ARTA@5: Streamlining the Philippines for Effective and Efficient Digitalization (S.P.E.E.D).” “The achievements of ARTA are particularly commendable considering the complex challenges and resistance that often accompany efforts to reform government systems,” she said. “Your relentless efforts to eliminate unneccessary regulations and simplify procedures are inspiration to other institutions and organizations,” she added. Duterte recognized ARTA’s “leadership” in integrating a number of initiatives that help “streamline processes and fast track business permitting and licensing,” including electronic business one-stop shops, unified application forms, and the creation of technical working groups in local government units (LGUs). “These initiatives increased business registration and boosted our LGUs’ business collections and revenues,” Duterte said, adding that ARTA’s partnerships with private businesses and government agencies “have undoubtedly made a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals, business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs.” The Vice President called on ARTA to be consistent with the Marcos administration’s eight-point socio-economic agenda. “Let us be bold in breaking down barriers and creating an enabling environment where business can thrive and citizens can access quality service without unneccessary delays,” Duterte appealed. “Let us work together in our shared pursuits of a bureaucracy that is efficient, responsive, and citizen-centric,” she added. She also commended ARTA’s achievements in eliminating red tape and embracing digitalization since these paved the way for a “business-friendly environment that empowers entrepreneurs and encourages investments.” During the event, which also coincided with ARTA’s anniversary, the agency shared its accomplishments and goals with its stakeholders and recognized its partners’ contributions.
