Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Raffy Tulfo topped the latest Tangere presidential survey for 2028 conducted from May 22 to 24.
According to the pollster, three to four out of 10 Filipinos, or 39 percent prefer Duterte as their first presidential choice if the 2028 Presidential Elections were held today.
"This is driven by respondents from Mindanao (3 out of 4 prefer VP Sara as President), Visayas, Northern Luzon, and Central Luzon," Tangere said.
Tulfo follows her with 30 percent. Duterte and Tulfo are followed by former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso at 9 percent), former Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Grace Poe both at 8 percent.
Other potential candidates for 2028 received less than 2 percent of the votes – Sen. Imee Marcos with 2 percent, former Senator Manny Pacquiao with 2 percent, and Speaker Martin Romualdez with 1 percent.
Tangere said that Tulfo leads as the second choice for president if their initial selected potential candidate will not run, this is driven by respondents who selected Duterte as their first choice of president. Former Vice President Leni Robredo is the top potential candidate for the question on the candidates the respondents would not choose or vote for.
The non-commissioned survey was conducted following Duterte's resignation as a member of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) party.
