La Union PDRRMO under red alert for ‘Betty’


SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) is on red alert status for typhoon “Betty” (international name “Mawar”) beginning Sunday night, May 28.

The PDRRMO is conducting field observations to ensure that local government units are ready for the typhoon.

The La Union Provincial Information Office said that the coastal municipality of Luna suspended classes on all levels on Monday, May 29.

Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David reminded her constituents  prepare and cooperate during disasters.

No tropical cyclone wind signal has been raised in the province and no disaster-related incident was recorded as of posting time.
