Blacklist International faces tough group; ECHO takes on Turkish champs
Blacklist International was drawn into a tough group in the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023 set to fire off on June 10 at the Aeon Mall MeanChey in Phnom Penh Cambodia.
The M3 World champions, who are making their way back to the regional tiff for the first time since 2021, are drawn in Group D where they are joined by Malaysian powerhouse Todak, and Egyptian team Occupy Thrones. MPL Philippines Season 11 champion Echo, meanwhile, was drawn in a much lighter group with Turkish titlists Fire Flux Impunity and Laos’ Team EVO. Group B will consist of EVOS Legends (Indonesia) led by Gerald "Dlar" Trinchera, along with Fenix Esports (Myanmar) and RSG Slate SG (Singapore). On the other hand, Group C will see a showdown of Filipino imports including Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol and Denver "Yeb" Miranda from ONIC Esports (Indonesia), Mariusz "Donut" Tan from Burn X Flash (Cambodia), and Peter "Basic" Lozano, Steven "Dale" Vitug, and Rainiel "URESHIII" Logronio from Team Outplay (North America). Teams will play a single round robin in the group stage in best-of-three affairs with the top two from each pool advancing to the playoffs. However, unlike the previous edition of the tournament where it employed a double-elimination format, there will be no room for errors this time around with a single-elimination format with games to be played in best-of-five affairs,
