‘Betty’ prompts evacuation of 100 families in Cagayan Valley


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – More than 100 families or about 400 persons were preemptively evacuated in Cagayan Valley or Region 2 due to the threat of typhoon “Betty.”

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD)-Region 2 said the evacuees are from Gonzaga, particularly Barangay Ipil with 74 individuals (20 families), Barangay Santa Clara with 101 individuals (26 families), and Barangay Cabiraoan with 71 individuals (17 families).

These evacuees are staying at the municipal gymnasium, Evacuation Center No. 1, and Cabiraoan, Capadeco.

Four individuals or two families from Barangay Casagan, Santa Ana are temporarily at the evacuation center.

Thirteen individuals from three families in Barangay Malasin, Maconacon, Isabela were evacuated to the barangay hall.
